Interactive Paula Scher (Visiting Artist) Poster

This poster was designed for a project in undergraduate school. Well-known graphic designer, Paula Scher, was coming to visit our school to talk about her experiences within her career. The week prior, our professor asked us to design a poster to announce the upcoming visiting artist. Our professor was also the head of our graphic design department and said that he asked the always talented, Chip Kidd, to come into our small classroom and critique our posters before they were put up the next week. Being a massive Jurassic Park fan, I knew I had to do something different to capture his attention. So I made an interactive poster. One that looks simple and legible from afar but when you approach, there is a little tab to pull down. It revealed the location, time, and date of the event. My poster was the only one you could physically interact with. Chip Kidd was super impressed and even used my poster as an example to say to our class, “your best piece goes first in your portfolio.” To this day, this is one project that I’m still extremely proud of.
